PHILOSOPHY

The Intimate Revolution started 2018 as an idea that there must be more to human connection and sexuality than there is today. More than the superficial encounters that movies display, more than the stereotypical porn, more than superficial encounters that leave us feeling unsatisfied and empty. We believe that human connection and sexuality can offer so much more.

It is time for a change.

We believe that in a world of over 7 billion people, nobody should feel alone.

We believe that love involves more than the chase for the magical one & only, and that we need to change the way we relate to each other. Intimacy and love should not hurt, but instead, empower and nurture us.

We believe that sexuality should be more than just a performance, more than what we see in mainstream pornography, and that it should actually be about the pleasure and connection we feel. We believe that there is so much more to enjoy and experience when we allow ourselves to go deep and explore the thousandfold ways of making love.

We believe that we need to change the way we live and love.

We believe that we need a culture that embraces authentic connections, a culture that allows us to feel and express our true needs and desires, to know and set our boundaries. A culture that is characterized by mutual respect and understanding and by open and honest communication, changing our daily encounters not only with sexual partners, but with everyone.

When we authentically connect to ourselves and to each other, we can lower our masks of perfection and show our true selves. And it is in these moments in which we can find the spark, the mystery of intimacy once more, and reclaim sexuality as an empowering, enriching source in our lives.

The Intimate Revolution starts today.

How to create the best experience for everyone

(Code of Conduct)

At The Intimate Revolution, we believe in a conscious and loving approach to our bodies, our sexuality, our health and our fellow humans. Here are our philosophies in what creates a safe, loving space:

Only a sober mind can be truly intimate.

Too often we use substances like alcohol or other substances to detach from our feelings or to alter our state of consciousness. The Intimate Revolution strives for authenticity, clarity and truth – within ourselves and in our interactions. We want to create a space based on clear authenticity and we are inviting you to take a deep dive into true intimacy with us.

Sexual health is priceless.

We are encouraging you to inform yourself about safer sex and take action – like getting tested before the festival and/or bringing your favorite safer sex tools along. You are not only taking care of yourself, you are also taking care of the person(s) you are interacting with. Here is a document with more information.

 Consent is key

A “No” is always a “No”, a “Maybe” is also a “No”, and a “Yes” is only a “Yes” when it is a “Hell Yeah!”. Also, stay aware and listen to body language, some things are said without using any words.

If we become aware of any unconsensual behaviour, we will have a talk. There are always two sides to a story, and we are willing to listen, learn and resolve. If a second consent violation happens, you will have to leave.
